Arts in the Kiltimagh Community:

IRD Kiltimagh CLG and the Kiltimagh Community has always recognised that:

1. The Arts have have an important role to play in any community development process and contributes to the well being of residents and visitors alike.
2. As a town, it was important to differentiate Kiltimagh from all the other towns around the region.

Our endeavours in the Arts hinges on:

• The provision of an extensive Scuplture Programme
• The Provision and Operation of the Town Hall Theatre & Conference Centre.

To this end, this community organisation has worked closely with LEADER, Mayo County Council and Individual Artists over the years to produce an array of public art which is second to none. In fact, when Ann Lane published her book, “By the Way – A Selection of Public Art in Ireland”, she referred to Kiltimagh as having “as much Public Art as some counties”. This was highly complimentary and appreciated.
