We see employment in the local area as being crucial to any modern economy. This basic statement underpins almost every single thing we do. Whether it’s lobbying on the infrastructure for the area, providing our own workspace for rent, encouraging tourism projects and events, or even more social projects, we are looking at it from the point of view of it creating a job and economic activity locally.
Over the years, IRD Kiltimagh CLG. has developed affordable workspaces which today accommodates businesses which employ 70 people full time and a further 42 part time. Many other businesses have incubated in IRDs workspaces, outgrew those spaces but continue to thrive and today they employ a further 158 people full time and 330 part time. This brings the job creation figures in IRDs own workspace to 228 full time positions and 376 part time positions. A total of 604 people therefore are working today in projects that are, or were, in IRD provided workspace.
Whether you establish your project in our workspace, or in the town, your job and those of your employees are important, so we also work closely with any private sector business in the area wishing to develop and grow and have had some considerable successes here too. However, these figures are not included in the above.
Kiltimagh, located in the heart of East Mayo, is an ideal place in which to do business. We’re just 10 minutes drive from the N5 and N17 roads, the main arterial routes through the region. Ireland West Airport is just 20 minutes drive away as is Castlebar and Ballina. Galway and Sligo are just an hours drive. Choosing Kiltimagh as the location for your business, means that you have access to a potential workforce of more than 200,000 within commuting distance from which to pick the employees with the skills you need.
